Fire system maintenance exists to ensure that fire hydrants and other fire protection systems are in working order in the event of a fire.
Up In Smoke Fire Services makes fire system maintenance and safety compliance easy with our services, offering regular fire hydrant testing and inspection services for your fire safety systems (including Fire Hydrants, Fire Extinguishers & Fire Hose Reels etc.) in accordance with the Australian Standards.
We also maintain and supply fire Alarm systems. A fire alarm system is one that comprises of one or more circuits, with detectors connected in parallel. An alarm signal is received at the fire panel when the current on a circuit increases due to the alarm operation of one of the detectors on that circuit.
Emergency lighting and exit signs help occupants evacuate the building in the event of fire. Emergency light and illuminated exit signs are backed up by battery back up and are supposed to illuminate for 90 minutes in the event of mains failure which is quite likely to happen when there is fire.
Industrial safety signs are essential to maintain heightened employee safety awareness in the workplace. Fire Safety Signs will indicate the location or direction to Fire Safety related facilities and Fire Safety Equipment.
Water Main Repair & Flow & Pressure Testing
Up In Smoke Fire Services have two of the largest portable fire pumps in Australia.
The main driver for this pump is a 6.7L Cummins motor.
The pump as shown and the pump curve delivers;
200L per second at 600 kpa
185L per second at 700 kpa
160L per second at 800kpa
120L per second at 1000kpa
The pumping system can measure flow rates at its control panel to verify accurate flow rates in the field by our staff.
We are also able to measure leakage rate at any pressure within the hydrant, sprinkler or any other piping system. This facility proves to the customer a sound onsite fire hydrant, sprinkler system or pipeline. It also has an automatic jacking pump facility to maintain pressure should it be required to support a fire system.
Vehicle & Marine Fire Suppression Systems
We offer fire suppression installation and maintenance for small vehicles to large non-road equipment, protecting excavators, haul trucks, loaders, drag lines, dozers, drills, scrapers, graders, compactors, underground mining equipment, forestry, waste haulers, marine and agricultural vehicles and more.
Fire suppression systems are activated within milliseconds of a slow-growth or rapid-spread explosive event, fire is detected and contained with a field-proven agent, and activated either automatically or manually depending on the severity.
